Madeline Janet Kressley

Madeline Janet Kressley, 94, died peacefully Dec. 17, 2022, at home in Surfside Beach, S.C.

The loving wife of the late Paul F. Kressley, the couple was married 74 years.

Born in Topton, she was the daughter of the late George and Florence (Reppert) Trexler.

A homemaker, she was a loving mother to her daughters Carol, Barbara and Angela.

She was a member of Ziegels Lutheran Church, Breinigsville.

Affectionately known as “Nana” to her family and friends, she had the ability to invoke friendship with people after the first meeting and it showed in the numerous friends she had near and far throughout her life.

As the matriarch of the family, her house always felt like a home to everyone who visited.

Her laughter filled our souls, her smile filled our hearts, her cookies filled our stomachs, and her light filled us all.

She could always be counted on to help friends and family in a time of need. Her heart knew no bounds.

Heaven gained a true angel, and we know that Pappy and her friends and family were waiting to welcome her home with open wings.

She will forever be missed and will never be forgotten.

Her survivors include daughters Barbara J. Frey and husband, Jerry, of Zionsville and Angela E. Johnston and husband, Norman, of Surfside Beach; son-in-law Robert Guenther Sr.; grandchildren Jessica Bradley, Christine Schuett, Michelle Herman, Tammie Kohler, Robert Guenther Jr., Brandon Johnston, Jeremy Johnston, and their spouses; and great-grandchildren Jake, Grant, Troy, Charlee, Logan, Erica, Stephanie, Tyler, Mackenzie, Kayleigh and Ciara; great-great-grandson, Weylyn; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter Carol A. Guenther, and her brothers Rayfield and Floyd Trexler.
