Joseph Scott Becker, 72, of Schnecksville, died on Dec. 20, 2022, in his home.

He and his wife, Linda G. (Mears) Becker, were married 50 years in March.

Born Nov. 18, 1950, in Norristown, Montgomery County, he was the son of the late Joseph B. and Esther Louise (Hunsicker) Becker.

He received his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College and earned his Master’s degree in engineering from Purdue University and Master’s in Business Administration degree from Lehigh University.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era.

He was a metallurgical engineer at Air Products and Chemicals Inc., Trexlertown, for 25 years before retiring.

Before that, he worked in the same capacity for Inland Steel, East Chicago, Ind.

He was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, New Tripoli.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a granddaughter Ashlyn Lloyd-Becker of Orefield; sister Margaret Lefebvre of Michigan; and nieces Pamela Jacknow, Joanna Dechellis and their extended families.

He was predeceased by son, Matthew Scott Becker.
