Frederick I. “Fred” “Pap” Rader, 87, formerly of Bernville, died Dec. 11, 2022.
He was surrounded by family, including his three daughters.
They were able to share one last song with him moments before his death.
He was the husband of the late Virginia M. (Yeugelvitz) Rader for 65 years until she died in August 2021.
Born in Johnstown, he was a son of the late Edward and Maldon (Mauk) Rader.
He retired from Airco/BOC Gases, where he was a plant supervisor for many years.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
He spent the last year at Forest Lake Club enjoying all that nature had to offer.
A dedicated family man, especially to his daughters, he had many dear friends whom he included as family.
His survivors include daughters Kathleen M. Feather (William) of Salisbury, N.C., Debra A. Christman (David) of Pittsburgh, and Carrie Yocum (John) of Allentown; sister Donna Trent (Richard) of Johnstown; brother Garry Rader (Linda) of Friedens; grandchildren Billie Marie and Kaliam “KC” Feather, Christopher (Jackie), Keith (fiancée Kelly), and Anthony Christman, and Evan, Alyssa, and Blayne Yocum; great-grandchildren Cayden, Mason, Abigail and Alexander; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by an infant son, David, and brothers Ronald, Leroy “Sonny,” Dennis “Tommy” and Larry Rader.
