Dagen Condomitti came away as the lone medalist for Northampton at last weekend’s Beast of the East tournament in Delaware.
Condomitti finished second at 157 following a 4-0 decision to Delbarton’s Alessio Perentin.
He finished the tournament going 4-1 including pins in his first two bouts and then earning a decision in the quarters against Max Norman of Dobyns-Bennett (TN) 8-5 and then registering a 7-5 decision over Jordan Chapman of Cranford (NJ).
Carson Wagner (120) was the only other K-Kid to make a deep run through the tourney, as he worked his way through to the fourth round of the consolation bracket before ultimately falling by a 5-2 decision to Max Elton of Holy Spirit (NJ).
Northampton eased back into action this week against Stroudsburg on Wednesday before taking part in next week’s Bethlehem Holiday Wrestling Classic on December 28 and 29 at Liberty’s Memorial Gymnasium.
Participating teams in this year’s event include: Bensalem, Freedom, Liberty, Blue Mountain, Boyertown, Council Rock South, Delaware Valley, Easton, Emmaus, Garnet Valley, Hazleton, Hempfield, Honesdale, Kennett, Malvern Prep, Manheim Township, Nazareth, North Penn, Northern Lebanon, Northampton, Northwestern, Parkland, Phillipsburg, Quakertown, Saucon Valley, Shenendehowa, Southern Lehigh, Spring-Ford, Stroudsburg, West Scranton, Whitehall, Wilson West Lawn and Wilson.
Wrestling begins at 8:30am on Wednesday, but kicks up at 6:30pm with the quarterfinals. Thursday’s action begins at 10am with wrestling taking place straight through to the medal rounds.
