Frank L. Bodisch

Frank L. Bodisch, 81, of Whitehall, died Dec. 18, 2022, in St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Kathleen (Ryan) Bodisch for 58 years.

Born in New York City, he was a son of the late Alois and Hermine (Stranzl) Bodisch-Traupman.

He was a Hokendauqua High School graduate.

He was in the U.S. Navy and was awarded the Navy-Marine Corps Service Medal for voluntary acts of heroism during a rescue mission in Agadir, Morocco.

He was a patrolman for the Whitehall Township Police Department. He was a letter carrier and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after more than 30 years. He was a carpenter and created unique furniture.

He and his wife were foster parents for the Catholic Charities for 40 years and cared for more than 60 children.

He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Coplay, for 55 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Kevin of Whitehall, John of Whitehall, Michael with Eileen of San Antonio and Jonathan of Bethlehem; two daughters, Barbara of New York and Ann of Slatedale; 11 grandchildren; and one great grandchild, with another expected in July.
