Edgar W. Frey, 78, of Coplay, died Dec. 16, 2022, at home. He was the husband of the late Shirley M. (Houser) Frey.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Willard and Beatrice (Arndt) Frey.

He was a 1962 graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School.

He was a grinder for Stanley-Vidmar Company, Allentown, until retirement. Before that, he was a foreman for Lehigh Cordage Company, Allentown.

He was a champion kart racer in the late 1960s and early 1970s in the Topton area and raced dwarf cars at tracks throughout Pennsylvania.

He is survived by two sons, Scott A. Frey of Wernersville and Keith M. Frey at home; three grandchildren, Christopher White, Kody with Kendall Frey and Lon Frey and his fiancee Katelynn Kerschner; and a great-granddaughter, Melannie Frey.

He was predeceased by a sister, Carol Hitlin.

Contributions may be made to the funeral home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, 18066, to help offset his final expenses.
