Strawhacker earns dean’s list recognition

Brian Strawhacker, of Walnutport, has been named to Central Penn College’s dean’s list for the summer 2022 term. Strawhacker is currently majoring in Homeland Security management.

Of the students who took classes, 36% made the dean’s list. To qualify for the designation, an undergraduate student must carry six or more credits and earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or better for the term.

Geter inducted to institute

Harrell Geter, of Bath, was one of more than 90 student scholars who were recently inducted into the Frederick Douglass Institute for Academic Excellence at Bloomsburg, a Commonwealth University.

Requirements to become part of this student scholar program are to maintain a GPA greater than 3.0, participate in at least two FDIAE events each semester and contribute to an FDIAE legacy project and promote social justice and ideals.

Under the inspiration of Frederick Douglass and other distinguished leaders of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, Bloomsburg’s FDIAE promotes academic excellence among students and enhances their understanding and appreciation of human diversity. The institute is part of PASSHE’s collaborative to enhance the academic life and enrich the campus climate of participating universities.
