Precipitation didn’t stop supporters of Bethlehem’s Mounted Police Patrol from celebrating the holidays with the horses Dec. 11. A special visit by Santa, who arrived by tractor, gifts for kids, hot cocoa and cider to take the chill off, caroling by student groups from Liberty HS and Northeast MS, visits with officers and their horses, an appearance by Einstein the Snow Camel and some of his friends from the Peaceable Kingdom Petting Zoo, and the opportunity to shop for that special gift in the mounted patrol merchandise shop made it a full afternoon experience for many families. Volunteers from the nonprofit Friends of the Bethlehem Mounted Police organized and staffed the event.
