John T. Bogert Jr., 88, of South Whitehall, died Dec. 16, 2022, at home.

The husband of Mary A. (Reichenbach) Bogert, the couple shared more than 65 years of marriage.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late John T. Sr. and Hilda (Fischl) Bogert.

Before retiring, he worked 17 years at A&B Meats, Allentown, and later worked 18 years for Tru 2 Form, Fogelsville.

Lastly, he worked eight years for Walmart, Trexlertown.

He enjoyed volunteering at the Sanctuary at Haafsville and playing bingo at Cedar View Apartments.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son James M. and his wife, Donna, of Pine Grove; daughter Brenda L., wife of Jay Pye of Cartersville, Ga.; brother Leroy R. of Germansville; sister Joan P., wife of Carl R. Hein Sr. of Germansville; four granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a granddaughter Danielle Bogert; brother George D.; and sister June Hanzl Farrell.
