Salisbury High School names student of the week
Q. In what grade are you currently enrolled?
A. I am a senior at Salisbury High School.
Q. Who is in your family? Please provide the first names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.
A. My mom Rita, dad Michael, brother Niko and cat and dog Piper and Suzie.
Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?
A. History because it connects to all of the other subjects. History examines everything that has happened in the past.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. I was selected as Salisbury High School boys soccer’s scholar athlete. I have earned first place twice at the regional Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competition. I was also a part of the Envirothon team that earned first place at our regional competition last year.
Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?
A. I am captain of the Salisbury boys soccer team. I am captain of the swimming team. I am captain of the boys tennis team. I am president of National Honor Society. I am captain of the scholastic scrimmage team. I am president of the Model UN Club. I am a member of the debate team, ski club, German club and Envirothon team.
Q. What is your next goal after high school?
A. I plan to attend a 4-year university and study political science.
Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?
A. My biggest challenge has been balancing my extracurriculars with my school work. My school work has been rather rigorous throughout my four years in high school and I have been able to succeed in this part of my life, while also participating in a number of extracurriculars. While this has been a challenge, it has also been very fulfilling for me.
Q. For what would you like to be remembered?
A. I would like to be remembered for excelling in a number of areas of my life. I would also like to be remembered as someone who made sure everyone on the sports teams when I was a senior felt accepted and included.
Q. Whom do you admire? Why?
A. I admire my mother because she came from a poor background but has become very successful and overcome incredible odds. She also has been able to have a successful career and raise both my brother and me delightfully. She can truly succeed throughout her life.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. To always try to reach out to people even if you are not originally friends with them. It is very hard to speak to somebody when you do not know them that well, but it is almost always a net positive for both parties involved.
