At Whitehall-Coplay School Board’s reorganization meeting Dec. 5, William Fonzone Sr. was reelected as board president, George Makhoul was reelected as vice president, and George Williams was reelected as treasurer.

Patricia Gaugler will remain as education/student activities committee chair, Joseph R. Shields as operations/transportation chair and Williams as financial/personnel committee chair.

Whitehall-Coplay School District Superintendent Dr. Robert Steckel Jr. thanked the board members for continuing to offer their services.

Also at the meeting, the board approved school board and committee meeting days for 2023.

Board meetings will be held the fourth Monday of each month, unless otherwise listed, beginning 7 p.m. The 2023 meeting dates are Jan. 23, Feb. 27, March 27, April 24, May 22, June 26, July 24, Aug. 28, Sept. 25, Oct. 23 and Nov. 20. The last date is the third Monday of the month.

The education/student activities, operations/transportation and finance/personnel committee meetings will still be held the second Monday of each month, unless otherwise listed, beginning 4 p.m. and rotating monthly. The 2023 committee meeting dates are Jan. 9, Feb. 13, March 13, April 11, May 8, June 12, Aug. 14, Sept. 11, Oct. 9 and Nov. 13. The April date is a Tuesday, and there is no meeting in July.

The next school board meeting will be 7 p.m. Dec. 19.
