Paul E. Schaffer, 86, of North Whitehall Township, died Dec. 3, 2022, at Parkland Manor, Allentown. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Beil) Schaffer.
Born in South Whitehall Township, he was the son of the late Emory P. and Irene I. (Frey) Schaffer.
He was a 1954 graduate of Parkland High School.
He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during a peacetime era.
He was employed at the testing center of Mack Trucks Inc. for 25 years before retiring in 2001. Earlier, he worked at the former Sheesley Concrete, Allentown, and the former Brown’s Radiator Shop, Orefield.
He was a member of the Ontelaunee Region Car Club, AACA National, Free Spirit Buick Chapter and BCA National.
He volunteered at Das Awkscht Fescht, Macungie, and Free Spirit Buick Car Show, Kempton, for many years.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Northampton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Ann L. Steigerwalt and her husband Ted of Slatington, Keith A. Schaffer of Lehighton and Karl A. Schaffer of Allentown; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Kevin A. Schaffer, and a brother, Ralph W. Schaffer.
There is a calling time 9-10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service 10:30 a.m., both Dec. 9 at the funeral home, 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville.
