ABE FESTIVAL OF TREES AND CONCERT SERIES: The sights and sounds of the 2022 holiday season have arrived at Lehigh Valley International Airport. Represented by their bands and chorale groups, three Bethlehem schools are among 12 schools from the Lehigh Valley scheduled to perform during the annual Holiday Concert Series in the Main Terminal and the Wilfred M. “Wiley” Post, Jr. Departure Concourse from Monday, Dec. 12 through Wednesday, Dec. 21.

Dec. 16 – 8 a.m. – Lehigh Valley Charter HS for the Arts Guitar Ensemble; 1 p.m. – Freedom HS Les Chanteurs Vocal Group

Dec. 19 – 8 a.m. – Nitschmann MS String Ensemble and Chorus

Dec. 21 – 8:30 a.m. – Freedom HS Concert Band

Five Bethlehem Area School District schools are among the 20 schools participating in the 26th annual Festival of Trees, which runs Dec. 5 through Dec 26: East Hills MS; Nitschmann MS; Hanover ES; Spring Garden ES; and Miller Heights ES

FREE CHRISTMAS TROLLEY: Every 20-30 minutes between the Historic District and the SouthSide Arts District.

SOUTHSIDE CHRISTMAS TREE TRAIL: Until Dec.17. Local business Christmas trees decorating contest. Walk the trail. Vote for a favorite tree. Complete trail and be entered to win a $100 gift card. HOLIDAY PUTZ TRAIL: Putz, Moravian Museum of Bethlehem and Single Sisters’ House. Traditional Moravian settings of the Nativity used around Christmas. Putz is a German term for decorate or embellish. This year’s miniatures feature hand-crafted models of Moravian Landmark District buildings. Single and multi-site passes, combination offers and discounts available. LIVE ADVENT CALENDAR: till Friday, Dec. 23. Downtown Bethlehem has partnered with Touchstone Theater and Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites to add a new layer to its annual Live Advent Calendar. It’s the first time in its 14 years that the event will have costumed actors using a Dickens style script and theater production equipment up and down Main Street for an immersive experience. Every evening at 5:30 from Dec. 1-23, the “town criers” will ring bells and call for visitors to gather ‘round the Goundie House, which is the oldest house on Main Street. Then, a child from the crowd will be invited to knock on the door, and everyone will be surprised with a performance and a little treat. Each night, a different business will sponsor the event as a gift to the community. East Stroudsburg University will sponsor the first night.
