Firefighters from both Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company and Eastern Salisbury Fire Department attend a joint training session Nov. 21 at the Lehigh County Joint Operations Center, 4300 Broadway, in South Whitehall Township. The Lehigh County Special Operations team brought Salisbury Township's firefighter/rescue crews up to date on the latest equipment and techniques used by the special ops team in assisting county first responders. The special ops team has specific equipment and trained technicians to respond when requested by local police, fire and rescue organizations when they are at the scene of large-scale emergency operations requiring expertise beyond their training or available equipment.
