Margaret M. Deutsch, 98, of Whitehall, died Nov. 21, 2002, at Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Frank O. Deutsch for 54 years.

Born in Whitehall, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Oleksik) Matika.

She was a 1942 Whitehall High School graduate.

She was a secretary for Mack Trucks.

She was a member of St. John Fisher Catholic Church, North Catasauqua.

She is survived by two daughters, Frances M. Getz and husband Dennis of North Catasauqua and Christina M. Deutsch of Whitehall; two grandchildren, Rebecca Getz-Keller and husband Shawn of North Catasauqua and James Getz and wife Annemarie of Vancouver, British Columbia; a great-granddaughter, Lux Getz of Reno, Nev.; nieces; nephews; and cousins.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Monica Deutsch; and six siblings, Michael Matika, Mary Burke, Anna Budihas, Elizabeth Shedlock, John Matika and George Matika.
