Lehigh Valley Therapy Dogs holds Pawsta dinner

The annual “Paw-sta” dinner was held recently at the Lehigh Lodge in Macungie to raise money for Lehigh Valley Therapy Dogs. Therapy dogs visit nursing home patients, pediatric units, airports and other institutions. Volunteers train their dogs and are then registered and approved by the Alliance of Therapy dogs in Cheyenne, Wyo. This year the event was held over two days to allow for the increased business. Orders were received and packed in “doggy bags” with pick up at the Lodge. The event changed from a sit-down dinner where the dogs wore chef hats. Volunteers who cooked, served and arranged the event include, back row, left to right: Mary Minnich, Karen Wonderly, Judy Lasso, Barbara M'Gonigle, Annmarie Markowitz, Jane Mann, Karen Brown, Alice Romberger, Peggy Stoudt; front row, left to right: Traci deCrosta, Donna Debus-Hawk, Laura Rostow, Pam Rickard, Deedee Carlson, Cindy Sandt, Jim Carlson and Janie Hecker.
Volunteers provide traffic control for the Pawsta dinner crowd including Tom Klocek, Gene Shanaberger, Roger Brown and Keith Kleintop.
