Voletto inducted into honor society
On Nov. 10, Elaina Voletto, of Whitehall, was inducted into the Zeta chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha), a national honor society for first-generation college students. The mission of the honor society, which was founded at Moravian University in 2018, is to encourage and reward academic excellence among first-generation college students pursuing a bachelor’s degree at accredited institutions of higher learning. Tri-Alpha chapters provide members opportunities for personal growth, leadership and campus and community service.
Located in Allentown, Cedar Crest College has been named 12 years in a row among the top colleges in the nation by U.S. News & World Report’s Best College Rankings and as a Top Performer on Social Mobility from 2020 to 2023. In 2020, the college was recognized as No. 5 among Washington Monthly’s national Master’s University Ranking and No. 17 Best Bang for Your Buck: Northeast. In addition, the college was ranked nationally in the Council of Independent Colleges for educating women completing STEM bachelor’s degrees who go on to earn Ph.D.s and from 2017 to 2020 as a Top 25 school for nontraditional students by Best College Reviews. Founded in 1867, Cedar Crest currently enrolls 1,400-plus students - full time, part time and graduate - in more than 50 fields of study.
