Veronica Laroche, director of Northampton Area Public Library, traveled to Bath Farmers Market to underscore the library’s motto, “Always something new.”
When Laroche was selected the new director in November 2021, she said she planned to reach out to surrounding communities with library services. Laroche felt too many people in the area believed the library was only for Northampton Borough residents. She wants to change that perspective by creating awareness and to have a friendly, welcoming environment in the library.
She said library staff want people to know they are here for residents of many boroughs and townships, no matter where they live in Northampton Area School District, and provide good service.
To promote this wide reach, Laroche attended the Bath event and held a storytime at the market. The library received important exposure at the well-attended market to raise awareness that the name Northampton Area Public Library truly means the Northampton area, not just Northampton Borough.
Laroche plans to visit other communities in NASD to reintroduce the library. She is excited about the number of events sponsored by the library and urges all to visit the library’s website, northamptonapl.org, or the Facebook page.
Also consider visiting the library at 1615 Laubach Ave., Northampton, to experience “something new.”
