Police arrested Daniel Charles Fegely Jr., 24, following a shooting at Ontario and Itaska Streets around 1:45 p.m. Nov. 12.
Officers discovered the suspect had a confrontation with two people in a car, and when they tried to leave he drew a gun and opened fire. The car was found damaged at the East Fourth Street Fire Department station. A spent shell casing was found at the original scene.
Police observed Fegely Jr. on city video and social media and arrested him the morning of Nov. 14 near Five Points.
Officers located a firearm and narcotics inside the vehicle. A search was also conducted of Fegely’s residence, where police located a distributable amount of narcotics, and firearm ammunition.
Fegely is charged with numerous criminal offenses, including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, attempted kidnapping, simple assault, reckless endangerment and firearms violations stemming from previous convictions. Police do not believe this confrontation began as an attempt by the suspect to kidnap the victims.
Fegely was remanded to Northampton County Prison.
