Lincoln topic of Dec. 6 roundtable
The Civil War Roundtable of Eastern Pa. presents “Lincoln Lite” Dec. 6 at 7:15 p.m. with historian Tom Fontana at Delta Hotels by Marriot, 7336 Adrienne Drive, Breiningsville.
Known and admired for his character, political skills, leadership qualities and accomplishments, Abraham Lincoln had a humorous side. Fontana will share Lincoln’s lighter side, as remembered by his closest friends, as well as some of the songs Lincoln enjoyed.
There is a fee for non-members.
Valley auto dealers provide Thanksgiving dinners
The Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Association, in conjunction with its dealers, many of its associates and local grocery stores, are blanketing the greater Lehigh Valley with complete bagged Thanksgiving dinners to over 100 families in need this year. A turkey, potatoes, stuffing, corn or green beans, gravy, cranberry sauce and pasties from Mr. Pasties will be provided.
Dan Moyer, GLVADA executive director, said GLVADA added this event to its current list of community give-back programs.
“We are incredibly happy to provide for families this year,” Moyer said. “GLVADA give-backs have averaged more than $100,000 per year pre-covid.”
According to Moyer, associates who contributed to this effort include Giant Food Stores,, Wegmans, Geico Dan Mensch office, Wells Fargo, Hotel Bethlehem, M&T Bank, Corporate Environments, First Commonwealth Federal Credit Union, Federated Insurance, Fulton Bank, Todd Donnelly from Mr. Pasties, Boyer & Ritter Accountants, IHeart Media and the Lehigh Valley Press.
