Eva J. (Hemerly) Kunkel, 92, of Allentown, formerly of Kempton, died Nov. 13, 2022, in Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehabilitation, South Whitehall.
She was the widow of Arlan R. Kunkel, who died in 2012.
Born in Lynnport, she was a daughter of the late John W. Hemerly Sr. and the late Mary E. Fister.
A 1946 graduate of Slatington High School, she was a member of Jacob’s Church, New Tripoli, and a longtime former member of the Pennsylvania Farmers Association.
She and her late husband were self-employed dairy farmers in Kempton for 55 years. They also raised tomatoes for Campbell’s Soup Co. for many years. Her survivors include her son, Roy R. (Ruthanne) Kunkel of Kempton; daughters Linda S., wife of Roy Gruber, of Auburn, and Lori A., wife of Gary Zellner, of Lenhartsville; eight grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her siblings Anna Blose, Earl, Carl, John Jr., and Terry Hemerly.
There will be a private funeral service at the convenience of the family in the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, 8405 Kings Highway, New Tripoli, PA 18066.
