Whitehall-Coplay PTO PLUS Cherrydale fundraiser update: All orders were set to ship out Nov. 14 and hopefully will arrive for pickup Nov. 21. The PTO has no control over shipping and deliveries; everything is delayed due to a shortage of drivers everywhere.

As of right now, Cherrydale will keep us informed of when it should arrive at the schools. Whitehall-Coplay School District will communicate with you when the PTO has the merchandise for pickup. PTO will also post on its Facebook page.

Reminder: Mark your calendar for early dismissals for the elementary school buildings and Whitehall-Coplay Middle School Nov. 18-22.

On Nov. 23, schools will be closed for a professional development day.

Schools will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 24-28.

Senior yearbook ads and baby pictures are due by Dec. 1. Visit balfour.com, click the yearbook and search Whitehall High School to purchase both your yearbook and ads. You can also go to the yearbook website for more information.

As a reminder, all photos and messages for the ads should be submitted on AdBuilder. A link will be sent within 24 hours after purchase to create your ad. Note: Please be sure to check your spam folder.

WHS yearbooks are currently on sale for $70. Make sure you act on the lowest price of the year. The cost will increase after Thanksgiving.

Reminder concerning college visits: If a junior or senior will be missing school for a college visit, be sure to complete a vacation trip form prior to the absence and indicate college visit for question number two on the form, which needs to be returned to the attendance office.

WCSD’s policy on educational trips limits the number of school days missed to seven per year. Any days missed for travel beyond the seven days of absence will be illegal days if the student’s age is 16 or younger.

The family educational trip request form, available in the school office, must be submitted to the office prior to departure.

WCSD prefers all trips be scheduled during the holiday break.

Reminder for parent/guardian pickup procedures for elementary schools: Student dismissal begins 3 p.m.

Parents/guardians should arrive no earlier than 2:30 p.m. and no later than 3:20 p.m.

A note must be sent to your child’s teacher each day he or she will be picked up at dismissal. Parents/guardians who intend to follow this process indefinitely should send a note saying their child is a yearly pickup and obtain a numbered car tag.

WHS is again participating in the Giant A+ Rewards program. Shoppers with a bonus card can register their card, designating WHS as the recipient of points earned when they use their card. Points turn into dollars WCSD can use for various educational needs.
