Coplay: Filling sale pickup set for Nov. 18, 19

If you ordered Thanksgiving filing from St. John’s Lutheran Church’s sale, pickup is set for 1-3:30 p.m. Nov. 18 and 9 a.m.-noon Nov. 19 at the church, 18 S. Third St.

There is a schnitzel dinner 5-7 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St.

The 56th annual community Thanksgiving service will be held at Redeemed Christian Church of God, 17 N. Third St., 7 p.m. Nov. 20.

All residents of any religion or faith are invited.

The park and recreation board meets 7 p.m. Nov. 30 at the borough building, 98 S. Fourth St.

The board will be examining a request from council members to per close the municipal pool for the 2023 season.

The Coplay Food Bank is seeking donations for the holiday season of canned sweet potatoes, canned fruit, Jell-O mixes, cereal, peanut butter, jelly and canned meats like SpaghettiOs or ravioli.

Items can be dropped off at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Coplay Recreation and Welfare Association’s annual holiday tree lighting is 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1 at borough hall.

There will be entertainment by Lorri Woodward and Rob Ballonoff.

Refreshments will be served, and all children receive a small gift bag.

The Michael Ann and Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation designer purse bingo is planned for Dec. 9 at American Club of Coplay, 300 Cherry St.

Doors open 5 p.m., and bingo starts 6 p.m.

There will be food and beverages for sale.

All proceeds benefit the Michael Ann and Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation.

The Altar and Rosary Society of St. Peter Church, 4 S. Fifth St., is hosting its first milk and cookies with Santa event noon-2 p.m. Dec. 18 in the church hall.
