Gloria Luella Madtes, 78, of New Tripoli, died Oct. 26, 2022, in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall.
She was the widow of LaMar J. Madtes.
Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late William F. and Ida B. (Weaver) Bleiler.
A graduate of Mansfield University with a Bachelor of Science degree in education, she went to Penn State University for graduate school.
She was a beloved kindergarten teacher at Cetronia Elementary in the Parkland School District for 33 years.
She was a member of Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church, Allentown, and the Ontelaunee Car Club.
Her love of children translated outside the school as well, to crafting with her grandchildren, Sunday School, Bible School, and caring for the little ones in her church’s infant room.
She and her husband spent many enjoyable years touring and showing their three antique cars with the car club.
Her laughter and bright smile will be missed by many she has touched throughout her life.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary K. Adams (Jason) of San Antonio, Texas; stepsons Jeff Madtes (Rhonda) of Old Forge, N.Y. and Kevin Madtes (Mia) of Schnecksville; sisters Barbara A. Bollinger of New Tripoli and Mary Jane Bleiler of Mansfield, Texas; sister-in-law Kathy Bleiler of Phoenixville; grandchildren Lillian and Nathan Adams, Skyler, Ryan, Henry and Harper Madtes; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Frederick W. Bleiler.
