The Salisbury football team ended its 2022 season with a 53-6 loss to Catasauqua last Friday night.
The Falcons (0-10) fell behind early, surrendering three touchdowns in each of the first two quarters to trail 40-0 at halftime. The Rough Riders made it 53-0 before Salisbury’s Nick Beck broke free for a 70-yard touchdown run with 3:25 left in the game.
Catty, which sealed its district playoff berth with the win, out-gained Salisbury 347 yards to 95 in the game, including 280 rushing yards. The Roughies were forced to punt just once in the game.
Anthonie Hunsicker ran for 144 yards and three scores on 11 carries, while Ezra Garcia (two), Jyzaiah Bonilla and Christian Fye also ran for touchdowns in the gam.
For Salisbury, Beck ran the ball seven times for 101 yards and the lone score. He also caught three passes for 18 yards.
The Falcons, which battled a difficult schedule in 2022, end the season without a win for the first time since 2010. Since going 6-5 in 2019, the Falcons have won just three games, which includes last year’s 2-8 mark and a 1-5 record in the COVID-shortened 2020 season.
