Seeking volunteers with basic computer skills to assist day center guests one-on-one with online applications for benefits, employment searches, housing searches and locating local services at Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering. A Volunteer Ombudsman is a community neighbor who is specially trained to find answers and resolve simple problems older adults experience in the long-term care system and who enjoy visiting with others, helping to find answers and have time available to visit residents in Northampton and Lehigh counties. Community Bike Works needs volunteers to help in its food pantry at Keck Park, Allentown. There are a variety of needs from heavier lifting to seated work. Volunteer 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays. Up to three volunteers each day. Minimum age to volunteer is 15 with an adult. Join us in empowering residents of the Lehigh Valley. The Center for Career Pathways at the Allentown campus of Lehigh Carbon Community College needs volunteer classroom aides for its adult literacy program. Work virtually or in person with adult English language learners or high school equivalency students on math, reading, writing, social studies and science. Flexible schedule. Do you know basic sign language? The Greater Valley YMCA in Allentown is looking for a volunteer to teach simple, basic sign language to the infants, toddlers and preschoolers in our program. Spend about 5-10 minutes in each of seven classrooms classroom, one time weekly, between 9-11:30 a.m. Minimum age to volunteer is 16 with an adult. Tour guides at the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts lead guests of all ages through the museum while presenting a lively and educational narrative about the changing styles of the decorative arts over more than three centuries. New Day In-Home Treatment & Support Services is seeking a part-time, volunteer grant writer to help us achieve our mission to empower children, youth, families, individuals and the elderly. Volunteers are needed for vision screenings in Lehigh Valley public schools, preschools and day care centers for children ages 6 months and up.
