At least 60 people attended the recent meeting of the Upper Milford Historical Society to hear residents present reminiscences of Shimerville, illustrated with historic photos and backed up with research from the Upper Milford Township Historical Society archives. It was an evening of laughter and delightful stories, as members and guests recalled stories of Kressley's Cree-Mee-Freez, discussed the legend/truth of the underground stories in the township, sighed over long-ago prices and shared stories from school days and who-dated-whom. There was much laughter as tales were told of younger days and many “I've always wondered” types of questions found their answers. Presenting historic tidbits were John Fegley, Lorelle Moser, Rose Parry, Faith and Frank Willis, Barry Miller, Mary Baglini and Peter Smith, all either current or previous residents of Shimerville. This was the first in a series of programs about the villages that make up Upper Milford Township, as told by residents. ABOVE: Barry Miller's talk sparks many comments among members and guests.
