Veterans Day events

Local veterans organizations are planning ceremonies and services for the Nov. 11 Veterans Day holiday.
Whitehall Township is planning to celebrate Veterans Day with a number of ceremonies around the township.
The schedule is as follows: 9:30 a.m. at Cementon Veterans Memorial, Main Street; 10 a.m. at Doughboy Memorial, Park and South Church streets, Egypt; 10:30 a.m. at Egypt Park Veterans Memorial, Hillcrest Lane and Curt Simmons Drive; 11:30 a.m. at Whitehall Memorial Park at the township building, 3219 MacArthur Road, including the Hokendauqua and Fullerton American Legion posts and Egypt Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7293; and 12:30 p.m. at VFW Post 7293 and Tom Cat memorial site, 5209 Springmill Road, Egypt.
Egypt VFW Post 7293 will also be holding the 2022 Operation Turkey Drop 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Post.
The Warrior Brotherhood Motorcycle Club will be accepting donations of frozen turkeys. Donations of ShopRite and Weis gift cards and monetary contributions are also appreciated.
Checks made payable to VALOR Clinic Foundation can be mailed to the foundation at P.O. Box 315, Brodheadsville, 18322. Write “holiday meals” on the memo line of the check.
Fullerton American Legion Post 367, 609 Fullerton Ave., will be having its own Veterans Day services Nov. 11.
The schedule is as follows: 9 a.m. service at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 200-299 Fullerton Ave.; 9:30 a.m. at the memorial across the street from Post 367; 10 a.m. ceremony at Post 367; and 11:30 a.m. service at the Whitehall Township memorial, 3219 MacArthur Road.
American Legion Jones Quigg Post 739, Hokendauqua, will hold a Veterans Day dedication of the bar to William Bandura Sr. Keep an eye on the group’s Facebook page for more details.
The Northampton Joint Veterans Organization is planning a Veterans Day program, set for 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the veterans plaza, 14th Street and Washington Avenue. All are encouraged to attend to honor our military veterans.
The joint group includes Northampton American Legion Post 353, Catholic War Veterans Post 454 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4714.
Catasauqua American Legion Post 215 will be holding a veterans dinner 5 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Post, 330 Second St.
This year, the Post is celebrating the members who have 50 years of continuous membership. Contact 610-264-1606 for more information.
Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce is holding a Veterans Day recognition ceremony for all veterans. It will be held 11 a.m.-noon Nov. 10 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hecktown Oaks, 3780 Hecktown Road, Easton.
