DUI
A 59-year-old male, of Allentown, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop along Hamilton Boulevard/U.S. Route 222 Northbound, Lower Macungie Township, 6:23 a.m. Oct. 10, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 38-year-old male, of Macungie, was detained on suspicion of driving under the influence after troopers found an abandoned vehicle in a ditch near the intersection of Lower Macungie Road and Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, 4:23 a.m. Sept. 3, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. An investigation at the scene led troopers to the male’s residence.
A 28-year-old male, of Macungie, was placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the area of the intersection of Brookside Road and Princeton Road, Lower Macungie Township, 12:31 a.m. Aug. 21, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A motorist was placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence after a crash in the area of East Texas Road and Brookside Road, Lower Macungie Township, 10:23 p.m. Aug. 23, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A motorist was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after a crash near the intersection of Chestnut Street and St. Peter’s Road, Upper Milford Township, 1:54 p.m. Aug. 15, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 51-year-old male, of Allentown, was placed under arrest for allegedly driving under the influence after a two-vehicle crash in the 4000 block of North Hedgerow Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 11:40 p.m. Aug. 15, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 55-year-old male, of Breinigsville, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence after a one-vehicle crash into a yard near the intersection of Shepherd Hills Avenue and Shepherd Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 5:35 p.m. July 31, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist sustained minor injuries in the crash and was treated at the scene by Macungie EMS.
Criminal mischief
A resident of the 2900 block of Aroninink Place, Lower Macungie Township, found a bicycle tire was punctured between 10 p.m. Aug. 2 and 8 a.m. Aug. 3, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A vacant location on Grandview Drive, Lower Macungie Township, was entered by several people who then caused minor damage at the location, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported Aug. 1.
Theft
A wallet was taken from a person in Costco, 791 N. Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 10:30 and 11:45 a.m. July 13, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A check was removed from a mailbox on Saw Mill Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 7:30 a.m. Aug. 23, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The check was made out for $340.
A resident of Pinewind Drive, Lower Macungie Township, learned $350 was stolen using a mobile payment service, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The resident reported the incident at the state police barracks, Schantz Road, Aug. 24.
A resident of Cold Spring Road, Lower Macungie Township, reported a check for $8,000 was stolen, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The resident reported the incident at the state police barracks, Schantz Road, Aug. 17.
Accidents
A Carbon County motorcyclist was hurt when he was thrown from his motorcycle after striking a deer in the 4100 block of Chestnut Street, Upper Milford Township, 3:30 p.m. July 14, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was transported by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, for treatment. Crews from the Vera Cruz Fire Company and Emmaus Ambulance Corps also responded.
An Emmaus motorcyclist was hurt when she was ejected from her motorcycle after striking a deer near the intersection of South Cedar Crest Boulevard and Farr Road, Lower Macungie Township, 9:39 p.m. July 14, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The deer entered the roadway and the driver was unable to avoid striking the animal while in the southbound lane. The motorcyclist was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. The motorcycle was towed from the accident scene.
An Orefield motorist was injured when her vehicle toppled onto its side in a one-vehicle accident in the 1400 block of Hidden Valley Road, Lower Macungie Township, 1:17 a.m. March 19, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The motorist was traveling north when she allegedly struck a tree on the shoulder of the road before the vehicle fell onto its side. The driver was unable to get out of the vehicle and was extricated by firefighters. The motorist was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. An investigation determined the driver was allegedly driving under the influence at the time of the accident, according to authorities. Macungie Ambulance Corps, Lower Macungie Fire Department and Stew’s Tire Center also responded.
Theft from vehicle
Electronics with a total value of $2,754 and $2,240 cash were removed from a work truck in the 7100 block of Scenic View Drive, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported 7:45 a.m. Aug. 21. Items taken include a dashcam, valued at $300; a portable printer, valued at $135; a GPS device, valued at $800; a wireless headset, valued at $240; an iPad computer tablet, valued at $1,200; miscellaneous groceries, valued at $89 and identification documents.
Cutting tools were used to remove catalytic converters from four different vehicles parked at a business along Tank Farm Road, Upper Milford Township, between July 14 and July 18, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A catalytic converter was removed from a 2021 Toyota Tundra pickup truck at a location in the 4400 block of Hamilton Boulevard, Lower Macungie Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville. The incident was reported 12:39 a.m. June 2.
