Allen Township Board of Supervisors met Oct. 25 to approve the 2023 budget and other ordinances.
The 2023 budget proposes no tax increases, with the millage again remaining steady at 5 mills.
In other business, supervisors approved ordinance 2022-01, which revises the township’s existing stormwater management ordinance.
“As part of the MS4 permit, this was a requirement to adopt the 2022 DEP model ordinance, which includes riparian buffers, a written procedure for waivers, discussions on erroneous permits and how to get the appeals,” Engineer Stan Wojciechowski said of the changes.
Additionally, supervisors approved a motion, effective Jan. 1, 2023, creating a township parks and recreation board.
Seven out of the allotted nine members were appointed to the board, with their official appointment set to take place at the 2023 reorganization meeting.
The board will next meet 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at the fire company building, 3530 Howertown Road. The Nov. 22 meeting has been canceled.
