Members of the Bethlehem Police Department from various divisions performed a concentrated, proactive enforcement across the city with the purpose of apprehending drug traffickers and wanted persons Nov. 3.

During this operation, in addition to successfully serving various arrest warrants and enforcing traffic violations, a known drug trafficker was arrested and charges are pending. The details of the arrest are as follows:

Esau Thomas, who was wanted in both Lehigh and Northampton counties, was stopped in his vehicle in the 200 block of Broadway. Thomas was in possession of an amount of marijuana. A subsequent search warrant was served at his residence in the 500 block of Atlantic Street and recovered a firearm that did not belong to Thomas, Fentanyl pills, crack cocaine, and an additional half-pound of marijuana. Thomas is being charged in connection with the items recovered during the traffic stop and found in his residence.
