Ronald L. Snyder
Ronald L. Snyder, 76, of Bernville, formerly of Fogelsville, died Oct. 29, 2022.
He and his wife, Sue E. (Warder) Snyder, were married 54 years in June.
Born in Clarksburg, Harrison County, W.Va., he was the son of the late Eugene C. and Pauline (Williams) Snyder.
He grew up in Bridgeport, W.Va., and graduated with the Class of 1964.
He played baseball, basketball and football, and was known as “The Toe.”
He attended Marshall University and Salem College.
He faithfully and honorably served in the U.S. Army achieving the rank of captain during the Vietnam War.
He flew and was chief pilot at Aeromech Inc., Bridgeport.
During his flying career, he also flew for the Bethlehem Steel Corp., People Express and retired from Continental Airlines after 22 years of service.
He loved getting people interested in flying and teaching them to fly.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family and wonderful friends at Farmers Pride Airport.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a son Steven Scott Snyder and his wife, Shelly, of Schnecksville; grandchildren Chase and Reese Snyder of Schnecksville; sister Paula Flint and her husband, Roger, of Bridgeport; brother Kenneth L. Snyder and his wife, Rae Ann, of Melbourne, Fla.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Kim and Charlotte Warder of Valley Bend, W.Va.; and sister-in-law Janice Warder of Weatherford, Texas.
Family and friends may pay their respects 2-4 p.m. Nov. 5 in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville.
A public celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
