The sophomore class is selling Gertrude Hawk chocolates and orders are due Nov. 3. Contact Susan Wilson for more information or to purchase chocolate at swilson@salisburysd.org.
Clubs are doing many activities as well.
Key Club is participating in the Holiday Hope Chest drive again this year. After collecting over 40 boxes last year, members will once again collect shoe boxes and items to fill these boxes for those in need. Items for all ages include toothbrushes, soap, lotion, socks, hats, gloves and much more. These boxes focus on people from ages 2-18. All items must be collected by Nov. 21.
G.I.V.E. (Get Involved, Value Everyone) is holding a Hurricane Fiona drive. This drive is focused on individuals who have lost items during this storm and need help. Items being collected and donated include canned food, LifeStraws, flashlights, air mattresses and much more. Items are being collected until Nov. 4. If interested in donating, contact adviser Anne Ruiz at aruiz@salisburysd.org for more information.
No Place For Hate is organizing and putting together a Language Wall. This organization focuses on coming together and appreciating what makes everyone diverse and human.
This wall will be inside the school and they are asking students to fill out a form. In this form, students will write phrases that have hurt them in the past. After all anonymous responses are collected, they will create a hand wall with the phrases on them and this will show unity among students.
