Robert S. Galus
Robert S. Galus, 75, of Macungie, formerly of Buffalo, N.Y., died Oct. 29, 2022, surrounded by his four girls. He was the husband of Barbara (Maskee) Galus. They recently celebrated 49 years of marriage. Born in Buffalo, he was the son of the late Stanley and Stephanie (Szulewski) Galus.
He earned a master’s and a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Macungie VFW.
He retired from the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and Consumer’s Beverages after over 35 years of employment.
He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Emmaus and St. Andrew’s Parish in Kenmore, N.Y, where he was involved in the Holy Name Society.
He enjoyed golf, a good burger and beer and cheering on the Buffalo Bills. Most importantly, he was a family man, a loyal partner and a dedicated father and Papa.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Amy and her husband, Frederick Kurz, Jenny and her husband, Jonathan White, Sarah and her husband, Padraic Smith; grandchildren, Gavin and Paige Kurz, Keaton, Cole and Gatlyn White, Seamus and Stella Smith; brother, Stanley (Nancy) and sister, Susan Dunn.
After his diagnosis of Primary Progressive Aphasia, he was involved in many studies and will continue to support and further the research of this disease.
