John “Gunner” A. Solderitch, 89, of Coplay, died Oct. 26, 2022. He was the husband of Shirley M. (Fahringer) for 49 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late John J. and Helen (Kershner) Solderitch.

He was in the U.S. Navy for nearly four years. He was on the U.S.S. Goodrich.

He worked for Reichard Coulston and ABE Airport.

He was a lifetime member of Hokendauqua American Legion Post 739.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lori Strzelecki and husband Mark; a grandson, Charlie; two sisters, Patricia Bodnar and Linda Pizzo; a brother, Frank “Smokey” Solderits and wife Karen; nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a sister, Betty Cenchitz; and three brothers, Robert “Skooky” Cenchitz, Leroy Solderits and Joseph Cenchitz.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
