Bath: Salem UCC plans Nov. 5 event

Salem United Church of Christ, 2218 Community Drive, will hold its country festival and craft fair 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 5. There will be crafters, Christmas items, a bake sale, basket and ticket raffles and homemade food for sale, such as whole pies, chow chow, raw stuffing, salad dressing, soups and candy.

Petersville Rod and Gun Club, 550 Club Road, will hold its next all-you-can-eat breakfast 8-11 a.m. Nov. 6.

East Bath Rod and Gun Club, 7905 Township Line Road, will be having a block shoot and meat raffle 1-5 p.m. Nov. 6.

There will be hams, loins and bacon. Gun and turkey raffle tickets will be available at the door.

There will be a BYOB tavern night 7-10 a.m. Nov. 11 at Governor Wolf Historical Society, 6660 Jacksonville Road. Doors open 6:45 p.m. You must be at least 21 years of age.

Emmanuel’s Lutheran Church, 3175 Valley View Drive, needs helping hands 9 a.m.-noon Nov. 12 for a cleanup day at the church cemetery. Bring your own tools and gloves.

Doughnuts will be in abundance, but bring your own coffee.

Remove all plants, flowers and artificial flowers from the cemetery by Nov. 4 in preparation for the Christmas holiday. Do not place any Christmas arrangements until after Thanksgiving.

Keystone Rod and Gun Club, 243 Mulberry St., will be having a sportsman’s night raffle 6-10 p.m. Nov. 12.

A meal will be served 5:30-7:30 p.m.

There will be hunting and gun raffles all night long. You must purchase a ticket, available at the door. You must be present to win door prizes, and photo ID is required.

Chapman Quarries United Methodist Church, 1433 Main St., is having a half or whole Thanksgiving pumpkin roll sale.

There is a cost; proceeds benefit the church.

Petersville Rod and Gun Club will be having a surf and turf block shoot noon Nov. 13. Refreshments will be available.

Christ United Church of Christ, 109 S. Chestnut St., will be taking orders for holiday take-and-bake potato filling until Nov. 17.

Pickup is planned for 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 20 at the church.

Bath will be having leaf collection through Nov. 20.

Leaves must be curbside before 7 a.m. on collection day. The north of Route 248 will be collected Mondays, and south of Route 248 will be collected Wednesdays.

No trash, sticks or rocks will be collected.

Emmanuel’s church reminds its congregation it’s time for the mitten tree. Mittens, scarves and hats for all sizes - adults and children - will be collected through Nov. 28.

Place all items on or around the mitten trees, which will be located in the gathering area and the fellowship hall. These items will be donated to one of the local school systems.

During the month of November, Emmanuel’s will help Bath Area Food Bank by collecting cookies and canned pasta, such as ravioli, SpaghettiOs and Beef-a-roni. There is an ongoing need for ramen noodles. Donations for the food bank can be dropped off in the bins in the fellowship hall or the upstairs gathering area.

The food bank is no longer accepting Jell-O or pudding.

Grocery gift cards, particularly for Aharts, are needed for emergencies. Bring all gift cards in an envelope marked “food bank” to the church office.
