An Allentown man has been charged in the Oct. 26 shooting on Route 22 in Whitehall.
Pennsylvania State Police arrested Jacob Elliot Garcia, 23, Oct. 28. Charges include one count each of criminal attempt/criminal homicide, aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure - all felonies.
According to police, troopers responded approximately 3:15 p.m. Oct. 26 to Route 22 eastbound, in the area of MacArthur Road, for a report of a vehicle struck by gunfire.
An investigation determined a Dodge Charger was traveling in the left lane of the highway when Garcia, an occupant of a vehicle traveling in the right lane, allegedly shot at the Charger, striking the driver.
Police said the driver of the Charger was transported to the hospital with injuries.
Bail for Garcia was set at $500,000. His preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 7.
