I am a fierce advocate for doing away with school property taxes, especially for homeowners, replacing the revenues with broad based taxes like sales and income along with gaming revenues. Equally important is fighting for a fairer share of state education dollars here. Our school districts are shortchanged by the state, as result we rely more heavily on property taxes than other parts of the state. I've introduced a bill to expedite getting more state money to our schools, so our property taxes can be reduced.”
