Hokendauqua: Trick or treat set for Oct. 28

Whitehall Township will hold its trick-or-treat night 6-8 p.m. Oct. 28. If you plan to hand out candy or other kid-friendly items, please have your porch light on during this time. If you are going trick-or-treating, stay safe and have fun!

The rain date is set for Oct. 29.

The Haunted Hayrides in the Parkway program will continue 7-11 p.m. Oct. 28 and 29 at Whitehall Parkway, 4689 S. Church St.

There is a cost. Proceeds benefit Whitehall Fire Department. Discount coupons can be found at whitehallfd.org.

Refreshments and free parking will be available.

Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, has its 28th annual craft fair and quilt sale scheduled for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 12. The event will consist of indoor and outdoor tables.

Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative has free community meals set for the following Hokendauqua locations.

• Nov. 15 - First Presbyterian of Hokendauqua, 3005 S. Front St. Information: 610-264-9693

• Dec. 20 - Whitehall Bible Fellowship Church, 3300 Seventh St. Information: 610-434-8661

The meals, served 4-6:30 p.m., are guaranteed for the first 100 guests.

Mark your calendar: Whitehall will hold its annual tree-lighting celebration 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at the municipal building, 3219 MacArthur Road.

There will be light refreshments offered and a special visitor from the North Pole. Entertainment is forthcoming.

The township is hosting a bus trip to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square Dec. 10. The bus will leave the municipal building 2 p.m. and will depart the attraction site 10 p.m.

The cost of a ticket - $80 - includes transportation and admission.
