Donation benefits at-risk youth

At its Sept. 27 meeting, Northampton Exchange Club presented a donation to Valley Youth House.

The donation was the result of proceeds from the club’s spring craft and vendor fair and tricky tray in March.

Linda Mery, chair of the craft fair committee, presented the check to Emily Connors, associate director, development and marketing for Valley Youth House.

After the presentation, Connors described the many programs the organization sponsors for at-risk youth.

Valley Youth House began as a single youth shelter in 1973 and has grown to more than 300 residential facilities in Pennsylvania. Its mission and programming includes street outreach, skills training and health, prevention and intervention services.
