Charles “Bull” R. Bechtold

Charles “Bull” R. Bechtold, 89, of Walnutport and formerly of Fullerton, died at home Oct. 11, 2022. He was the husband of Barbara (Steckel) Bechtold for 41 years.

He was a son of the late John and Helen (Parker) Bechtold.

He was in the U.S. Navy on the Meredith DD-890 during the Korean conflict. He was stationed in Italy for 2.5 years.

He was a boiler master at the former Tarkett for 40 years. He was retired.

He was a lifetime member of Tin Can Sailors/DESVETS, Walnutport Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7215 and Fullerton American Legion Post 367.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, John and wife Patty; a daughter, Charlene Stevens; two sons, Chris Shuler and Kevin Shuler; three brothers, James, Richard and Ronald and wife Eileen; eight grandchildren, Kaitlyn Stevens, Joleen Stevens, Jessica Bechtold, Samantha Chatenka and husband Bruce, Sonya Mora and husband Rick, Kevin Shuler Jr., Tylar Shuler and Cody Shuler; seven great-grandchildren, Lincoln Mora, Cora Stevens, Kayden Bechtold, Kendra Bechtold, Cameron Bechtold, Hailey Hottenstein and Channing Chatenka; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers, John, Robert and William Bechtold; and a sister, Mary Ann Warmkessel.

There will be no services.
