Board approves resolutions
At the Sept. 14 and 22 East Allen Board of Supervisors meetings, the board adopted several resolutions.
During the Sept. 22 workshop meeting, the board adopted resolution 2022-17, which authorizes the joint Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development and Local Share Account grant application for $286,191 with Moore Township for the purchase of an Asphalt paver and trailer. The municipalities will share the equipment.
Resolution 2022-18 was passed for the Monroe County Local Share Account to authorize a grant application for $225,000 for a rapid response vehicle. Also, the board, under resolution 2022-19, authorized a similar grant request from Northampton County.
The board passed resolutions 2022-20 and 2022-21, authorizing a Northampton County LSA grant application for $175,000 for a tractor for roadside mowing. It was reported one of the township roadside mowers has been heavily used and is in a state of disrepair.
During the board’s Sept. 14 meeting, supervisors passed a motion to ratify general fund checks 1499 to 1569, totaling $191,089.04, for various township obligations.
The board directed township Manager Brent Green to submit a letter of support to participate in Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s vulnerable road user traffic safety improvement plan for the Route 512 corridor.
The board directed township staff to continue work on an ordinance that addresses stormwater management in the township. It was requested the ordinance be completed for board review and advertisement.
The board made a recommendation to execute an agreement for a Livable Landscapes grant in the amount of $30,000. Livable Landscape grants are funded by Northampton County to support municipal parks, land preservation and environmental services.
