Photos courtesy of John Miller Church of the Good Shepherd UCC, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis, celebrated its annual Harvest Home Service recently. The service was a wonderful way to honor God's bounty and recognize the rural heritage of the congregation, according to organizers. Produce displayed, both homegrown and purchased, was donated to the Food Bank at St. Paul's UCC, Trexlertown, to be distributed to families in need in the local community. ABOVE: Featured in the altar display are antique farm implements including a wooden wheelbarrow, harvest forks, a scythe and a potato plow.
Congregation members are welcomed to the harvest service with a 1951 Model B John Deere tractor in the church courtyard.
