Elizabeth Ann Charters

Elizabeth Ann “Nanny” Charters, 77, of Lower Macungie Township, died Oct. 14, 2022, surrounded by her family in her home.

Born Sept. 28, 1945, in Germantown, Philadelphia County, she was the daughter of the late Gerard Patrick and Mary Eileen (Callahan) Hines.

She was a longtime volunteer at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Center and a member of Life Church, Macungie.

Her survivors include children Deborah Ann Zolotareva (Andrei) of Allentown, Julie H. Steigerwalt (Erin) of Fogelsville, Timothy P. Charters (Kelly) of Emmaus, and Sandra R. Binder (Ryan) of Weatherly; brothers Robert M. Hines (Marika), and Gerard P. Hines (Rose); sisters Donna M. Hughes (Michael), and Eileen M. Hines; grandchildren Ekaterina, Carson, Makiah, Daniel, Leah, Abigail, Ethan, Jadan, Mya, Chase, Gavin and Adalia.

She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia E. O’Brien.

A celebration of her life will be 4 p.m. Oct. 21 in Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown.

Family and friends may pay their respects 3-4 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
