Oct. 19
The Emmaus Historical Society will present a program 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church Parish Hall. Fifth and Chestnut streets, Emmaus. The program titled, “Funeral Homes of Emmaus,” will be presented by Andrew Kerstetter and highlights the history of the three Emmaus funeral home establishments that have served the families of the community since 1864. This engaging program will include photos and a few anecdotes about the owners. All are welcome to attend this free event. Refreshments served immediately following the program.
Oct. 23
Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church of Eastern Salisbury, 1707 Church Road, Allentown, will hold a bingo game 2 p.m. in the social hall. Doors open 1:30 p.m. For more information, call Louise at 610-866-1611.
Oct. 27
The Woman’s Club of Emmaus will host its Fall Card Party 1 p.m. in the meeting hall of St. John’s Lutheran Church, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus. This is a fundraising event to support the club’s scholarship program. There is a cost per person to play. Invite friends and make a table of four to play whatever game you choose. Reservations can be made by calling Sandy at 610-395-6434 no later than Oct. 20.
The Upper Milford Historical Society meeting will feature speaker Mike Jesberger and his lecture titled “The True Story of the Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” The program will investigate the real events behind the tale of Ichabod Crane and the headless horseman, a story based on actual incidents in the Hudson Valley in New York. The meeting program begins 7 p.m. at the Upper Milford Township municipal building, 5671 Chestnut St., Old Zionsville.

Emmaus Lions Club Pennsylvania Dutch Chowder Sale order pick up 7 to 11 a.m. at the Moser Pavilion in Emmaus Community Park, Shimerville Road. There is a cost for each quart container. To place orders contact any Lions Club member or call 610-965-7355.
Nov. 1
The Crazy Quilters Quilt Guild meets 6:30 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 4601 Tilghman St., Allentown. Award-winning quilter Kyona Nason, of Norristown, will be the guest speaker. She is known for her use of bold, solid color fabrics and a technique called interleaving, combining two quilt blocks into one unique design. There is a small fee for visitors. Nov. 6
The Carbon Model Railroad Society will host its fall train meet 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Diamond Fire Co. Bingo Hall, 120 Main St., Walnutport. This is a model railroad, toy train and railroadiania/railroad memorabilia sale for the serious and amateur railroad and model train collector. Refreshments will be available. Plenty of free parking. There is a cost for admission.
Nov. 11 and 12

The Emmaus Main Street Partners will host Small Business Saturday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shoppers can pick up a tote bag with a map of participating businesses offering promotions while supplies last. The day also will include the Holly Jolly Shopping Spree contest in which shoppers may send a picture of their Emmaus business receipts to 610-739-1273 to be entered to win a variety of prizes from local businesses through Dec. 21. Shoppers also are welcome to take pictures with the event sign on the Triangle and post to social media with the hashtag #ShowtheLoveShopEmmaus.
