A Dine and Dance event Nov. 5 will benefit Joey Groller, a 10th-grade Whitehall High School student who has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. The event will be held at the pavilion at Cementon Park, 5185 Dewey St., Whitehall, and is sponsored by Lehigh Valley Yankee Fan Club. Doors open 5 p.m.

Tickets are $25. Presale tickets are available at Konkrete Creamery in Northampton, Palace Pizza in Whitehall and Samuel Owens in Coplay.

Reminder for parent/guardian pickup procedures for elementary schools: Student dismissal begins 3 p.m. Parents/guardians should arrive no earlier than 2:30 p.m. and no later than 3:20 p.m.

A note must be sent to your child’s teacher each day he or she will be picked up at dismissal. Parents/guardians who intend to follow this process indefinitely should send a note saying their child is a yearly pickup and obtain a numbered car tag.
