CMS News: Picture retake day is Oct. 21

Picture retake day is scheduled for Oct. 21 at Catasauqua Middle School.

This year, the school utilized Dan’s Camera City for pictures.

The deadline to order from the CMS parent-teacher forum apparel sale is Oct. 23.

CMS will celebrate Red Ribbon Week Oct. 24-28. The theme is “Celebrate Life. Live Drug Free.”

Each day features a different dress-up theme: Oct. 24, put a cap on drugs by wearing a hat; Oct. 25, keep the peace by wearing tie-dye; Oct. 26, wake up drug free by wearing pajamas; Oct. 27, rally in red by wearing the color red; and Oct. 28, don’t let friends haunt you by wearing your Halloween costume.

There will be an early dismissal Oct. 26. CMS students will be let out 12:20 p.m.

Students are encouraged to dress up for Halloween Oct. 28. All outfits must abide by the dress code.

Halloween costumes cannot contain a mask, look-a-like weapons or studded spikes. It must be appropriate for school. Wear additional clothing underneath if necessary.

Other options include wearing clothing inside out or backward or creating unique, wild hairstyles. All hairstyles must be temporary and completed at home.

CMS is in need of bus drivers who possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.

The district will help train to get a CDL to drive a bus if interested. Clearances are required.

CMS is also in need of daily substitute teachers to provide instruction in the absence of a regular teacher, implement lesson plans and perform other related duties as assigned by the building administrator.

The daily substitute reports directly to the building principal.

The daily workday consist of seven hours of paid work time and 30 minutes of unpaid/unassigned lunch.
