Barbara Thomas Hemperly, 93, formerly of Emmaus, died Oct. 12, 2022, at Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. She was the wife of Leon J. Hemperly. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Charles X. and Elda (Stichler) Thomas.

She was a member of St. John’s UCC, Emmaus.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Bryan, Craig and his wife, Erika; daughters, Jan and her husband, Daniel Strobel, Susan and her husband, Michael Mitchell; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Charles Thomas and a sister, Elda.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Oct. 21 at St. John’s UCC, 139 N. Fourth St., Emmaus, 18049. A calling hour will be held 10 to 11 a.m. before the service in the church.
