At its Oct. 11 meeting, Allen Township Board of Supervisors approved a land development plan for an event center on Old Carriage Road, Kreidersville, and a request for an intermunicipal liquor license transfer.
According to Ron Check, of Setter Hill Farms LLC, a special event center is proposed for 639 Old Carriage Road.
The event center would consist of a 10,000-square-foot, two-story building, a cottage, a wedding venue and chapel and a horse-riding stable.
The venue would host various private events and would operate only when a person or organization has rented it. Even then, operations would cease 10 p.m., complying with the township’s noise ordinance.
Traffic would not pose a threat to the township either, it was mentioned, as Pennsylvania Department of Transportation determined the driveways are of “low volume.”
The board approved the preliminary/final land development plan with conditions, variances and deferrals as discussed at the July planning commission meeting.
Setter Hill Beverages LLC is looking to obtain a restaurant (R) license from an Easton-based business.
According to Associate Attorney Anthony Giovannini Jr., Setter Hill does not currently have a liquor license.
An R liquor license usually applies to bars and taverns. With this license, a business must “principally provide food service to the public. The service of liquor, wine or beer products is secondary.”
Setter Hill Beverages LLC plans to cook and serve food in an on-site kitchen for people at private events. In other words, this is not an establishment people can walk into and be served.
Further, an R-licensed establishment must be no less than 400 square feet in size and have seating for at least 30 patrons, which Setter Hill plans to accommodate.
Supervisors unanimously approved the intermunicipal liquor license transfer.
The board of supervisors next meets 7 p.m. Oct. 25 in the fire department building, 3530 Howertown Road.
