Allen/East Allen townships: Horner’s to host tours
Tales from Tombstones historical tours will be 1-4 p.m. Oct. 22 at Horner’s Cemetery, 4965 Nor-Bath Blvd., East Allen Township. There is free admission, and all ages and donations are welcome.
The tours will include the ancestors of Presidents Roosevelt and Truman, as well as ties to then-Gen. George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. There will be plenty of items to view.
Parking for healthy visitors is available by the church. All others can park near the cemetery.
The rain date will be Oct. 23.

Reminder: East Allen Township Open Space and Farmland Preservation Committee will be holding a public meeting 7 p.m. Oct. 20 at the municipal building, 5344 Nor-Bath Blvd.
Guest speakers will include representatives from Northampton County and Bushkill Township.
Light refreshments will be available.
The committee is seeking the public’s help with developing a strategy to “protect the community’s natural resources, agricultural land, park land and environmentally sensitive land, along with recreation and open space.”

East Allen Township will be holding its trick-or-treat night 6-8 p.m. Oct. 28.
Trick or treat in Allen Township is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31.
Those planning to hand out treats are asked to turn on porch lights.

Township residents who travel Hollow Lane to access Horwith Drive will be impacted by the temporary closure of Hollow Lane in Northampton.
Hollow Lane between Sycamore Court and Terrace Circle will be closed for about a month to repair a water main break. Allen Township residents should not experience any disruption in their water service.
Detour signs will help divert traffic around the closure.

St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 8143 Valley View Road, Seemsville, is planning a variety bingo Nov. 6.
Doors open 11:30 a.m. The games start 1 p.m.
A tricky tray is also part of the day.
